An intimate elopement is one of my favorite kinds of weddings to photograph and this one did not disappoint! Robert and Julia share a love so special you can’t help but notice it when you are around them. From the way they interact, to how they talk about one another, right to how their loved ones describe them they are truly beautifully suited to one another! Their intimate elopement was so full of thoughtful and meaningful details, it was such a joy to capture!

The morning of Robert and Julia’s big day dawned bright and beautiful. I just knew we were in for some gorgeous images. However, nothing could have prepared me for the depth of love and emotion tied to every special detail of this intimate elopement! Julia had even planned a special surprise for her groom.

I could go on and on about the little things that made this day so special. The bride wore earrings handmade by her mother and an antique necklace brought back from the Netherlands by her as well. Her flowers were arranged and sent all the way from her sister who was not able to attend in person. One of my favorite details was their boots. Julia wore a new pair especially for her wedding, and Robert wore his late father’s jump boots. It was such a special detail the bride asked me to photograph them together especially.

Robert had not initially known that Julia would be wearing a full wedding gown, so his surprise and joy at their first look is so sweet. This was easily one of my favorite parts of the day! After the most heartwarming first look I have photographed we moved out back to the ceremony. Performed by a beloved neighbor and on a beautiful dock the couple built together overlooking the river in their backyard the ceremony was a dream!

I just know these two have a lifetime of love and joy ahead of them! Congratulations to Julia & Robert!!!
